Young Gmünd Symphony Orchestra (JGS)

The Young Gmünd Symphony Orchestra is a large school project run by Gmünd high schools Hans-Baldung-Gymnasium, Landesgymnasium, Parler-Gymnasium, Scheffold-Gymnasiums and Gmünd and Waldstetten’s music schools. It does not matter which school the young musicians come from. They all have one thing in common – the joy of playing a music instrument.

The JGS was established in 2017. It was set up to offer what many small ensembles cannot offer: grand symphonic sound. However, the orchestra’s aim is not to be an elitist orchestra for the very best. Everyone may find their place within the orchestra. Sometimes the parts are rearranged to match the skills of the respective musicians

I am the JGS’s co-founder and co-initiator. That is why I am happy to still be one of the orchestra’s conductors. It is our wish to bring joy to our audiences with our varied program.

St. Josef Böbingen

Church Choir

This church choir gives a lot of performances within the church year. Of course, the main focus is on church music: regular Sunday services, motets, masses, liturgical chants. Solemnities are often carried out in collaboration with the chamber orchestra “Sinfonietta St. Josef”.

We give concerts regularly, especially often together with other choirs. Our repertoire ranges from the Renaissance to the Modern period. Many of my choral works were performed by the Böbingen church choir and were even premiered here.

Schola Cantorum

St. Josef’s schola cantorum  is affiliated to the Böbingen church choir. This male ensemble performs Gregorian chant, medieval music, and German liturgical chant and is only active during the Christmas time and the Holy Week when it is given honourable liturgical tasks.

Fellbach Chamber Orchestra

The Fellbach Chamber Orchestra is a semi-professional string orchestra. It plays a vital part in Fellbach’s cultural and musical life with several concert projects every year. It stages its own productions as well as helps create festive settings for vernissages or jubilees taking place in the city. Experimental concerts projects have also received critical acclaim over the last years.

The FCO is focusing on the repertoire for string orchestra of the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern period. It also performs with soloists regularly, this includes symphonic works.

While being responsible as musical director it has always been my wish to present works which suit a wide variety of tastes and are nevertheless still joined together by one thematic bridge.

Choral Society "Liederkranz 1877 e.V." Grafenberg

Male Choir

The “Liederkranz” male choral society Grafenberg is an ensemble steeped in tradition. It is deeply rooted in the town of Grafenberg at the foot of the Swabian Mountains. Town life is influenced by the activities of various clubs and societies all year long. Church parish concerts take place as well as more secular events.

The choral society’s repertoire covers a wide range of musical styles. The choir has – amongst others – already performed 19thcentury works by Johann Strauss (“Donauwalzer”) and Friedrich Silcher’s numerous folksongs. We additionally enjoy performing modern hits and evergreens.

Mixed Choir

The mixed choir of the choral association "Liederkranz 1877 e.V." Grafenberg was founded in 2011 and was immediately well received. Like the men's choir, the mixed choir creates numerous musical events in and around Grafenberg, also within the framework of the Hohenneuffen Singers' Association and the Karl Pfaff Choir Association, in which the association is an active member with both choirs.

We maintain modern choral repertoire in English and German and do not forget the traditional roots of organized choral singing. For example, our programs include "hits" by Brahms, Hubert von Goisern or the Scorpions; we were also already active in the field of musicals.
